Five front desk habits that cut no-shows

An empty chair is lost time for the dentist and the clinic. These habits help patients turn up.
1. Book the next sitting before they leave
Patients who leave with a date are more likely to come back than patients asked to call later.
2. Confirm on the day of booking
A short confirmation message right after booking makes the visit feel real.
3. Remind them the day before
Send the reminder from your clinic's own number, so patients recognise it and can reply.
4. Make it easy to move, not cancel
If a patient cannot come, offer another slot straight away instead of letting the visit drop.
5. Keep a short waiting list
When a slot opens, the front desk can call someone who wanted an earlier visit.
How DentiqOS helps
Confirmations and reminders go out by WhatsApp or SMS on their own, and walk-ins fit into free slots on the chair plan. Book a demo.
